Petits pois carottes / Carrots and green peas


Petits pois carottes are a very common dish you can even find in can, "rayon conserves" in your supermarket.

But it's so much better when it's homemade with "primeurs" :











How can I make it ?

Ingrédients for 4 :

200 g lardons

1 oignon / onion nouveau

700 g petits pois primeurs

350 g carottes nouvelles

Poivre / pepper

 

For this recipe you can use vegetables "primeurs", it's better.

 

In a pan, grill the lardons (do not add oil, their fat will melt). Remove the lardons, add the sliced onion. Sauté.

Then add the petits pois and carottes, 1 cup of water, cover, reduce the heat. Cook gently for 20 minutes. Pepper.

 

Have your « petits pois carottes » with a piece of meat (côtes de porc, rôti de porc, escalopes). In general, petit pois carottes are good with a "viande blanche".
